Curcumin IV

About Curcumin

Curcumin is a naturally occurring compound best known as the active yellow pigment in turmeric (Curcuma longa), the root in the ginger family that’s widely used as a spice and herbal remedy.

Curcumin is both a phytochemical compound and a therapeutic agent in natural medicine, valued for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and system-supporting effects—essentially one of the cornerstone botanicals in modern naturopathic practice.

Why IV Curcumin?
  • Bioavailability: Oral curcumin is metabolized quickly and poorly absorbed. IV delivery bypasses the digestive system, achieving higher plasma concentrations.

  • Therapeutic Use: Used in alternative and integrative medicine, especially in cancer adjunct therapy-interferes with cell signaling pathways to prevent proliferation (cancer growth) and metastasis (spread of cancer) while supporting cancer cell apoptosis (death) . Chronic inflammation (e.g., arthritis, crohn’s/colitis, heart disease, chronic fatigue) Neurological conditions (like Alzheimer’s) Autoimmune diseases Antidote for soothing digestive issues Lyme disease

Benefits of Curcumin IV include:
  • potent antioxidant properties

  • supports the immune system

  • strengthens chemotherapy effectiveness

  • effectiveness against inflammatory disease

  • heals wounds

  • antiviral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties

How Intravenous Curcumin is Administered

IV infusions of curcumin are administered directly into the bloodstream through a vein. This allows the curcumin to bypass the gut and liver. IV treatment allows curcumin to bypass the digestive system, leading to more immediate relief for inflammatory disease such as chronic fatigue and autoimmune disease. The exact dosage and the interval between curcumin IV injections will vary based on the stage severity of the patient’s cancer, the patient’s general health, and other factors. This method is particularly useful for treating inflammatory conditions like Crohn’s disease and inflammatory bowel disease, offering quicker absorption into the blood vessels. While most studies suggest that curcumin intravenous therapy use is generally safe, it is not a recommended treatment for those who are allergic to turmeric or curcumin, and it may interact with existing medication.

IV curcumin is not a mainstream or FDA-approved therapy.

"Curcumin IV therapy is not FDA-approved and remains an experimental treatment. It should only be administered under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional. Individuals with gallbladder disease, bleeding disorders, liver or kidney impairment, pregnancy, or those taking anticoagulant or chemotherapy medications should avoid or use extreme caution with curcumin IV therapy. Always consult your licensed healthcare provider before considering this therapy."
